The new PhD programme is a joint project by Università Cattolica (Milano), Università degli Studi (Milano) and Università degli studi (Milano-Bicocca) and is structured in two parts: three semesters of taught courses and three semesters of research. In the first year students attend eight compulsory courses devoted to quantitative methods, microeconomics, macroeconomics, and public economics. During the first semester of the second year students attend advanced courses that bring them to the frontier of research in several fields.

The programme, taught in English, includes rigorous training in both theoretical subjects and advanced techniques with special attention to empirical tools. The Faculty of the School includes teaching staff from the three founding institutions and from several top foreign universities. The School has established exchange programmes with international institutions and academic departments.  The PhD programme is now in its fifth year of activity, it is widely recognized as one of the best Italian PhD programs in Public Economics, and has built a very promising track record in placing its graduates.

The programme has 10 scholarships on offer. So hurry and apply before March 31, 2008 to grab them.
